Spring has Sprung in Spring

What a Tongue twister and can only used on the First day of Spring. I’m happy that it’s raining and it’s getting rid of the pollen that has built up over the last few days(more like weeks).

I wonder if some will say the title 10 times fast.

Well it’s been a strong Early voting turnout in Harris County

Strong on both the Democratic side as well as the Republican side. I think the Harris County number are over 89,000 voted in the 12 day period. Higher on the Republican side than the Democratic side but that’s just because more voters in Harris county vote Republican. If it wasn’t for the contentious primary in TX-18, I think the numbers on the Dems side would be down. Nothing for them to get excited about. I’m guessing that the numbers on March 2nd are going to be high as well.

Well the Early voting numbers here in Harris county are up

from the last time(2006) that there was a vote for Governor and most statewide offices. That good I assume and I hope that Rick Perry doesn’t have to go to a runoff. I’m going to go early vote tomorrow since the polls open at 7AM. I know that I won’t be alone in doing so.

I almost forgot that today is the first day of early voting

for the Primary on March 2(that’s Texas Independence Day). The Democrats have their candidates(7 just for governor) and many others for offices that they don’t hold. I’m going to say that all you hear is Bill White and Farouk Shami. You don’t hear about the other 5 candidates. I guess the reason they don’t speak about anyone other than Bill White or Farouk Shami is so they don’t get split up in the Primary and need a runoff on April 13. Perhaps I need to link to the Sample ballots here in Harris county for both the Democrats and Republicans so you’ll know why.

In the point of will the left control there anger about losing a long held senate seat

in Massachusetts, I don’t think that will. Sure they’ll have face palm for a while, but I sure that they will work harder in becoming more leftist in the future. I’m sure that they will over the edge when they find out that people aren’t liking what they are giving. Somewhere in 2011, they should start acting very, very progressive because winning isn’t something they want anymore.

To anyone that think that Global warming exists…

…I think the temperature here kills that idea. When I woke up this morning, it was 18F and now it’s still not even at freezing. I hope that someone will club Al Gore to death. It wasn’t the snow back in December that killed Global warming, it was the hard freeze of the last few days that’s done that. If we get more of it, then I’m sure global cooling is coming.

I can almost guarantee that 2010 is going to be “Meet the New Boss, same as the old boss”

Nothing really changes and 2010 is more than likely to be the same. Yes, parties in power change and ideologies change as well. The people in highest positions of their prospective parties change too, but the overall focus stays the same. It moves in a predicted pattern.

This is not to take away from a larger movement(like the TEA party) but a reminder that populous movements haven’t changed things in the right direction. In fact, populous movements have moved things more to the left than to the right. Progressive tendencies haven’t been altered.

Single point conservatism has played well in the hands of those that wish to keep the status quo. Yes, social conservatives that have no fiscal conservatism then to allow those without fiscal conservative principals to do as they please. Likewise for the Fiscal Conservative and Defense Conservative. In order to not make sure that things don’t move anymore in the wrong direction and perhaps to towards the more correct direction, a single point conservative needs to adopt another point of conservatism.

Don’t be alarmed, the sun still appears in the sky in the day and it’s still a blue sky when it’s clear in the day. Things will and most likely stay on the same muddled political path. Let’s hope that things really change for the better.

I’m not betting on it.

Yesterday, the WH had a “Jobs Summit”

I know that it sort of strange that they would have a “Jobs Summit” at all, unless it dealt with killing jobs. We really can’t toss money around in the hope of making jobs. It doesn’t work that way. We should be making it possible for Small Businesses everywhere. We need to have the “Explosion of Small Business” Act to be the top priority in the 112th Congress. No it’s not Small businesses get exploded, it the proliferation of Small Businesses everywhere. When that happens, it will harder to not find a job than to find one. Every candidate for Congress in 2010 should have this as one of their reasons to get elected.

Teaser: Working a post about Senate Poker

since it seems very similar to poker and it can be a game at times. It will be explained out fully and will be a good read(unless you like to complain all the time about others work).

Well it passed and it had lots of majority party voting for it

Well, I guess it’s going to be the Capitol Hill massacre of Democrats in 2010. I see lots more republicans in the house in the next congress.
